Holy Friday night: "tomb-hopping" - 04/25/08 Scenes from Holy Week & Pascha. After the Friday evening Lamentations service, members of St Innocent's began a round-the-clock vigil of singing Psalms in front of the tomb of Christ. While this began, several carloads of parishioners went to visit other Orthodox churches in greater Cleveland that were also open all night. This late-night pilgrimage we call "tomb-hopping." It's especially popular with the young people, who don't have as much trouble staying up late. |
